Position Title:                   Youth Worker II

Reports to:                       Youth Programs Manager

Status:                             Full time (40 hours) Non-exempt

Position Summary:   Plan, lead, and evaluate activities and experiences that help youth become productive, competent community members equipped with the skills, knowledge and confidence to manage life’s opportunities and challenges.

Accountabilities:

Outreach and Family Engagement

Assess neighborhood population and program participation and complete outreach and family engagement plan

Register participants for upcoming programs; identify future opportunities for youth and families

Provide regular feedback to family about youth’s accomplishments and document as case notes in database

Organize family engagement events

Direct Service

Develop annual overview and timeline for services and evaluation

Develop/update course plan tied to program and funding goals and objectives

Plan and lead high-quality, engaging activities for groups and individuals

Participate in on-going professional development related to goals and objectives of position

Data and Evaluation

Complete Client Track database training

Collect and enter all required data in accordance with agency and funding requirements

Implement program evaluation tools and track progress using relevant database(s)

Maintain confidentiality of program participants in accordance with data privacy laws, standards and policy

Prepare or assist with preparation of program reports as instructed by funding agreements and supervisor

Communication

Participate in observation and feedback process

Maintain professional communication with staff, volunteers, interns, participants, and partners  

Perform all work in accordance with Neighborhood House policies, procedures, and norms

Attend and participate in departmental, agency and external meetings, trainings, committees and events as required

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

3+ years youth work experience and Associates degree or BA in Youth Work or related field; or 5+ years youth work experience and high school diploma or GED

One or more years of experience creating and leading age-appropriate youth development activities

Experience developing curricula, preferred but not required

Working knowledge of racial equity and social justice issues relevant to the communities we serve

Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with people of diverse economic, racial and cultural backgrounds

Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills in English

Proficient in Microsoft Office programs

Demonstrated ability to manage tasks and move projects to completion by deadlines

Committed to working both independently and as part of a team

Must have a driver’s license, a clean driving record, and ability to drive agency vehicles
